Remember Me

When the cold wind blows across the miles,
Remember me.
When a house is empty, without a child,
Remember how fear used to have me trapped.
When the space becomes so distant between us,
Remember me.

When silver laughter reaches your ears
Into your soul and calms your fears,
Remember how I once laughed.
When a chipmunk squeaks and sputters,
Remember my weird hyperness.
At night when falling into dreams,
Remember how you held me.
Remember how it felt to watch the dawn
When I am gone.

When breezes touch your face
And lightly caress your cheek,
Remember how I once touched you
And said I loved you.
Remember me.

When things are falling apart,
Think of my being there.
When you want to give up hope,
Remember how it hurt me.
Remember the way we talked,
Remember the future we built
Even though it was torn by sorrow.
When lonely on a dark evening,
Remember me.

When you find love again in someone else's arms,
I am happy for you,
But still, remember me.
Remember our tears as well as joys,
Remember the sofa that held our secrets.
Remember the contacts and the LRC.
